The Castlemaine Maryborough Rail Trail (CMRT) has received $45,000 in funding from the Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal (FRRR) to appoint a Fundraising Manager for an 18-month period.
The project, Connecting Communities: A Strategy to Fund the Castlemaine Maryborough Rail Trail, will support the development and delivery of a coordinated fundraising strategy to help bring this landmark regional project to life.
The Fundraising Manager will lead efforts to identify funding opportunities and prepare grant applications across government, philanthropic trusts, business partnerships and community sources. This high-impact role will play a critical part in advancing a once-in-a-generation infrastructure project with lasting health, tourism, economic and social benefits for the region.
CMRT President Janice Simpson welcomed the funding, saying, “We’re excited to have the capacity to strengthen and coordinate our fundraising efforts as we work towards building the trail.”
The successful appointee will be engaged on a contract basis and will bring experience in not-for-profit or charitable fundraising, strong relationship-building and communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with the CMRT committee and community leaders.
