safe riding sessions 11 APRIL…booked out
Our next CMRT Better on a Bike workshops are 2.5-hour guided sessions on safe cycling on 11 April in Maryborough. There are three sessions; each tailored to suit different riders. Numbers are limited to 12 participants for each session: so, book now. CMRT’s bicycle workshop series runs through March and April, and is funded by community grant from the Central Goldfields Shire Council.
What it’s all about
Our Safe Riding Sessions will help you develop some safe riding skills, and explain how the road laws apply to people using the roads, bike paths footpaths. You’ll be surprised, and come away smarter and better prepared.
Each safe riding session will cover:
- riding skills
- safe riding tactics (and how to negotiate roundabouts and intersections)
- the law and bike riders
There are three sessions; each tailored to meet the needs of different riders.
The session will be led by Stephen Taylor from Cycling Safe. Stephen is a Jedi when it comes to cycling safety. Cycling Safe is VicRoads’ preferred provider of bicycle education instruction training for Victorian school-based cycling programs. These sessions are for anyone who wants to feel a bit safer in the saddle.
Day / Time
Monday 11 April
- Women’s session: 9:00am – 11:30am
- Students’ session: 12:00am – 2:30pm
- General session (all ages and genders): 3:00pm – 5:30pm
Where
Maryborough Municipal Outdoor Swimming Pool, Lake Road, Rd, Maryborough VIC 3465
We’ll meet at the pool’s front entrance 10 minutes before each session.
Sessions will start no later than 5 minutes after scheduled start-time.
What you get / what it costs
New or enhanced skills and confidence to get to help you feel better about getting on your bike.
$0 per person (but we’ll always take a donation if you’re feeling the love).

You must be up-to-date with your COVID vaccinations to participate in this workshop and proof of vaccination status will be requested when you arrive for the workshop.
