Bicycle touring and ebikes workshop …BOOK NOW!
The final of our five CMRT Better on a Bike workshops is a three-hour immersion on 20 June into all things bicycle touring in Maryborough. We’re covering e-bikes too. Participants will be capped at 12. CMRT’s bicycle workshop series runs through May, and is funded by a community grant from the Central Goldfields Shire Council.
What it’s all about
Our Bicycle Touring Workshop will cover topics such as how to use online maps and plan a route, picking the most suitable accommodation, lightweight packing, two-wheel travel essentials, and, most important, how to have fun en route.
The workshop will be led by uber-experienced cycling tourer, Janice Simpson, who has taken bike trips on several continents from overnight to 7 weeks’ duration. This workshop is for anyone who yearns for touring, but fears they don’t know how. Janice will encourage cheerful participation and help you discover what’s holding you back from touring in the saddle.
Co-presenting will be fellow CMRT committee member and bike tourer, Sandy Harman. Sandy will bring along his fully kitted touring bike and his e-bike. Sandy will explain the benefits of e-bikes for touring.
Janice and Sandy welcome local riders of all backgrounds and abilities. You’ll find their workshop educational and heart-warming. Janice and Sandy will also reveal the secrets of ideal touring companions, including why your besties don’t always make the best bike mechanics.
