Why this petition matters
The Castlemaine Maryborough Rail Trail members and supporters cherish the tranquility and natural beauty of our proposed rail trail. The development of a broiler farm that may make approximately 1.3 kilometres of this trail unusable, due to a bio-security buffer zone overlaying the rail reserve, will produce profit for landowners and shareholders and will not benefit through tourism and local use the wider communities or residents. This farm may stop the trail’s development, undermining efforts to promote outdoor activities and healthy living in our community and beyond. Please sign this petition to protect our rail trail alignmnet and ensure it remains a safe, enjoyable space for all.
